Resin Facets
The front part of the tooth is slightly worn to prevent the new tooth from protruding too much. The tooth surface is prepared with a mild acid. A resin compound of the same color as the neighboring teeth is applied and sculpted into the shape, hardened with a polymerizing light and, finally, smoothed and polished.

The aesthetic result is generally good, but over time, it loses its luster due to the action of abrasive toothpastes, alcohol intake and other external factors.

Ceramic Laminates
Ceramic veneers are delicate pieces made of high-strength ceramics that cover the outer face of darkened, stained or pigmented teeth that do not respond to bleaching.

It is necessary to wear the outer face of the teeth to be covered with this blade, which is glued through adhesive cementation with photo activated resins, providing a new smile. They do not lose their shine, as they do not suffer the action of external abrasives. In most cases, this entire process requires two sessions to complete.

Contact lenses
Contact lenses are extremely thin and delicate blades, made of high-strength ceramics such as laminates, however they do not need to wear any of the teeth to be covered. As an analogy, we say that they are like “false nails” placed on the external faces of the teeth, but permanent. Although extremely thin, they are resistant, offer excellent aesthetics and do not get loose.

It is common for the teeth to turn yellow over time, but other factors also darken the teeth. Some of them are:

• Coffee, tea, red wine, cigarettes;
• Too much accumulated tartar.
In addition to these, there are internal factors that cause staining or darkening of the teeth:
• Loss of vitality, due to several factors, leaving it darkened;
• Treatment with certain antibiotics in the period of tooth formation;
• Excessive fluoride intake during tooth formation, from birth to 16 years old;
• The normal aging of people.

Efficient ways to whiten teeth
There are several safe and effective methods that promote teeth whitening. Consult your dentist, he will analyze the condition of your teeth and the result you want, determining which treatment is best for you.
He will analyze:
• The degree and type of stain;
• The state of the dental structure;
• The aesthetic format;
• Amount of plaque present on the teeth.
A dentist is able to remove most of the external stains caused by food or cigarettes. In addition to regular visits to the dentist, the use of toothpastes and proper brushing, with dental floss and toothbrush, prevent the formation of these stains.

Dental whitening performed at the Omint Dental Clinic:
• Self-application whitening;
• In-office whitening.

Auto Application Whitening
A silicone tray is made to fully cover the teeth. A specific gel is placed internally in the tray, in contact with the external surface of the teeth. The application time varies according to the type and concentration of the gel used. The dentist will indicate the best type and the most appropriate concentration for each situation.

In-office whitening
The procedure is performed in a clinic and requires several visits to achieve the desired result. To perform the technique, the gingiva is protected, and the photoactivated whitening gel is applied to the tooth surface. The lightening starts after the activation of the lightening substance through a special light (ex: low power laser or led).

Differences between the 2 methods
Both methods are indicated for the lightening of old and internal external stains. Auto Application Whitening is the most efficient, long-lasting method, and the one with the best results. In-Office Whitening has a shorter durability, and can cause greater sensitivity. It is indicated when the patient needs a more urgent aesthetic treatment, and should always be complemented with the Self Application technique.

Care during bleaching
With the arrival of new compounds for whitening, nowadays there is no longer the need for the “white diet”, that is, during the process the ingestion of foods with dyes such as coffee, red wine, dark teas, chocolates, among others is released.
